Omnicom Buys DDC Advocacy

Marcoms group Omnicom has acquired Washington DC-based DDC Advocacy, which uses data-driven insights to conduct advocacy campaigns for business and nonprofit clients. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McConnon (pictured), DDC Advocacy offer services including strategic planning and media buying; market research, including audience modeling and microtargeting, geospatial and social media; and database cluster/mapping analyses. It also offers a proprietary 'Democracy Direct' constituent relationship management tool, which uses data-driven insights to conduct campaign-style client advocacy programs.

The firm will now become part of Omnicom's DAS (Diversified Agency Services) group of companies, whose research arm includes agencies Communispace, The Modellers, Flamingo, Hall & Partners, M/A/R/C Research, and maslansky + partners.

DAS Chairman and CEO Dale Adams says DDC is 'a data-driven consulting company that knows how to use highly relevant data for targeting and campaign activation', and continues: 'This acquisition is consistent with Omnicom's overarching strategy to leverage data and insights to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients and their brands.'
