Kantar Expands Worldpanel in Saudi Arabia

Kantar Worldpanel has increased the size of its panel in Saudi Arabia from 2,000 to 3,000 households.

Alan RoyThe division provides insights about consumers and shoppers across a range of sectors, including FMCG, personal care, telecoms, fashion, entertainment and petrol. Its panels monitor shopper and usage patterns on a continuous basis, and cover 60 countries.

Last year, the division expanded into Africa with the launch of new consumer panels in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and later Egypt. Alan Roy (pictured), Country Manager in Saudi Arabia, says the panel enhancement in Saudi Arabia is part of the division's ongoing strategy to increase coverage in the region.

Roy explains: 'As modern trade patterns take hold in this historically traditional marketplace our move to enhance the panel by introducing more households and more locations means we can provide a deeper understanding of shopping behaviour and the Saudi retail environment.'
