June 9 2016

Behavioral data platform Amplitude Analytics has raised $15m in a Series B round of investment, which it will use for recruitment, further product development, and sales and marketing expansion.

Neeraj AgrawalBoston, San Francisco and Israel-based Amplitude provides user behavior analytics for mobile and web, to help clients with retention, engagement and conversion. Its proprietary behavioral analytics platform processes more than 75 billion events per month. The firm has also just launched an analytics tool called Pathfinder that measures all the different ways users navigate through a purchase, showing the best paths to increase conversion and retention, and comparing how different segments of customers behave.

New funding has been led by Battery Ventures, with participation from existing investors Benchmark, Data Collective, Merus Capital and Quest Venture Partners. This brings to $26m the total raised since the company was founded in 2012.

Battery General Partner Neeraj Agrawal (pictured), who joins the Amplitude Board, comments: 'Amplitude was an early pioneer in recognizing not only the importance of mobile but also the crucial role that analytics would play in helping companies achieve sustained growth. Amplitude's continued product innovation has resulted in sustained growth and an 80% win rate over the competition'.
