Burger King Appoints Global CMO

In the US, Burger King Corporation has appointed former Coca-Cola marketer Natalia Franco as Global Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for overseeing consumer insights, product innovation and the development and communication of the brand's global marketing and ad strategies.

Natalia FrancoBurger King operates more than 12,000 restaurants in all 50 US states, and in 74 countries and US territories worldwide.

Franco joins from The Coca-Cola Company, where she served as VP, Global Marketing and Innovation, responsible for all cross-functional marketing efforts for the McDonald's Division, including R&D, consumer insights, marketing and operations.

Prior to this, she worked for General Mills, where she held a variety of US domestic and international marketing positions. Earlier in her career, Franco gained international marketing experience with Savoy Brands International in Bogota, Colombia and with Unilever in Panama and Colombia.

In her new role, she will be based in the company's world headquarters in Miami, Florida, and will serve on the company's global executive team, reporting to Chairman and CEO John Chidsey.
