Russian Researcher Drops Retail Audit Service

June 9 2010

In Russia, FMCG research specialist Business Analytica is discontinuing its retail audit subscription-based service, which has provided consumer marketers and business analysts with data for more than 15 years. The firm is refocusing on more economical alternatives.

And end to 15 years of Russian consumer dataBusiness Analytica previously offered a round-up of major trends in regional aspects of retailing in Russia, through the monthly retail audit service.

The decision to close down the service has been made to enable the firm to focus its resources on studying consumer behaviour and preferences. According to subscribers, the cost of one study was about 2 million roubles, which made it unaffordable for some companies.

'Our retail audit has been around for more than 15 years, but at some point we lost interest in maintaining its direction,' explained General Director Andrei Sterlin.

May-June 2010 will be the last reporting period for which customers will receive the data.
