NPD Group Hires Deputato for Analytics Push

In the US, the NPD Group has launched a suite of advanced analytics products which tap into its proprietary item-level tracking information. It has also hired former SymphonyIRI exec John Deputato for the newly created role of Senior Vice President for Advanced Analytics.

John DeputatoThe suite includes six 'Solution Sets', based on NPD's consumer and retail databases combined with specialized statistical and modeling techniques applied by the firm's research team.

These new solutions have been developed to help clients uncover growth opportunities, evaluate new product performance, determine optimal pricing, measure the impact of marketing, and manage assortment.

'While NPD has offered analytic services for many years, we are in a unique position due to our granular and robust databases, and we are upping our game,' explains President and COO Karyn Schoenbart.

In his new role, Deputato takes overall responsibility for leading and growing the firm's Advanced Analytics business in North America. He will report to Group President, Randall Smith.

Prior to joining, Deputato was SVP of Client Solutions at SymphonyIRI, with responsibility for delivering the firm's retail, consumer and modeling services to health and beauty clients. Before this, he held senior marketing and product management positions with manufacturers in the home, beauty, and fashion industries, including Reckitt & Colman, Revlon and Coty.
