New Leaders for Geomentum

In the US, media strategy and measurement agency Geomentum has appointed former Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) leader Sean Finnegan as CEO, and Tony Bombacino as President/Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Sean FinniganA subsidiary of Interpublic Group, Geomentum uses geospatial technology and data to deliver marketing plans for tens of thousands of stores, and help them engage with shoppers. Its Decision Support System offers neighborhood demographics to enable retailers to plan, budget and activate multimedia plans at the local store level, with refreshed results on a weekly basis.

At SMG, Finnegan (pictured) was President/Chief Digital Officer, focusing for the past two years on driving the digital strategy practice, leading development of digital communications, proprietary tools and technology applications. Before this, he worked at video ad network Vibrant Media, and at a number of digital agencies, including serving as the CEO of Omnicom Media Group's OMG Digital. He began his career at BBDO New York.

In his new role, Finnegan will broaden the agency's technology offer and extend the business beyond retail and media performance technology to become a broader, integrated business unit working across digital and traditional 'hyper-local' media platforms.

Most recently CMO at specialist information firm Restaurant.com, Bombacino led a team of professionals responsible for marketing, branding and corporate comms. Before this, he was VP of Marketing & Client Services at Omnicom-owned Resolution Media, and held marketing posts at United Airlines, and analytics positions at Analytics Innovations where he developed predictive models and marketing strategies.

In his new role, he will use his experience to deepen the agency's analysis, predictive modeling, loyalty marketing and client service.

Matt Freeman, CEO of Interpublic-owned Mediabrands Ventures welcomes the pair's technology systems expertise and understanding which he says make then 'a truly dynamic duo' for Geomentum.
