comScore Debuts Multi-Platform Measure

April 2 2014

Digital measurement specialist comScore has launched a multi-platform audience metric for use across desktop computers, smartphones and tablets.

Mike PilcherThe tool uses comScore's proprietary multi-platform audience de-duplication methodology, combined with tagging, in order to produce a measure of 'unique people' being reached across the globe. The metric has been tested in partnership with the news and information site MailOnline, and measured its global audience as 100.5 million visitors, compared with a figure of 61.5 million from previous systems.

comScore now plans to offer this capability to other global media brands. Mike Pilcher (pictured), SVP Sales EMEA, comments: 'As more and more web sites compete in a global marketplace, we are very excited to provide a credible and independent international audience reach number across all platforms and geographies. We believe this approach offers great potential to other global media brands seeking to present their full offering to pan-national advertisers and their agencies.'
