CampaignGrid Extends Voter Ad Targeting to Mobile

April 4 2014

Washington DC-based voter targeting digital ad firm CampaignGrid is adding a mobile capability, allowing clients to target registered voters with video and display ads on mobile browsers and in apps on their smartphones and tablets.

Jordan LiebermanCampaignGrid's proprietary National Online Voter File data set (NOVF) uses first-party off-line voter data - layered with 33 off-line consumer and behavioral data sets - to allow candidates and causes to target specific registered voter segments online.

The expanded approach combines the NOVF with solutions from mobile ad targeting firm Amobee, to enable political candidates and advocacy organizations to target 70 million registered voters based on voting behavior such as party affiliation, voting history, geography and 'thousands' of other data points. The combined system works by matching real (as opposed to modeled) voter registration data to anonymized mobile device IDs, to enable clients to run voter targeted video, display and social ads across mobile phones and tablets and reach voters with the right message at the most appropriate time.

Jordan Lieberman (pictured), President of CampaignGrid, comments: 'Our platform follows voters wherever they go, and they are headed to mobile devices. Voter targeted mobile advertising will quickly gain a large percentage of the targeted online advertising spend.'
