BBC Seeks Agencies for Four Year Roster

April 16 2014

In the UK, the BBC is looking for qual, quant and specialist agencies for its new research roster. Successful agencies will be appointed for a four-year term.

Margo SwadleyOnce on the roster, firms will work on a variety of ad hoc research projects for TV channels, radio networks and 'future media' services, as well as on research to inform quality measurement and cross media insight. Research will be used to inform strategic policy, commissioning and editorial decisions, and to ensure audiences are 'at the centre' of everything the BBC delivers.

Applicants will be able to choose between two lots, with the first focusing on core research requirements (quantitative and/or qualitative), and the second including agencies that provide specialist expertise in areas considered to be of 'particular importance' to the BBC.

Acting Director of Audiences Margo Swadley (pictured) comments: 'We need the agencies we work with to be nimble, innovative and deliver the kind of research and insights that our programme makers need to do the very best job for our audiences. Our roster allows us to choose from agencies who we are confident will meet these requirements, while ensuring we deliver value for money for licence fee payers.'

The deadline for applicants is set for 20th May 2014, with contracts scheduled to be awarded in December. Interested companies should go to www.bbc.bravosolution.co.uk to apply.
