August 4 2014

Two announcements from Ipsos: the Loyalty division has a new syndicated study providing benchmark data on consumers' views across 23 sectors in 30 countries; while Canada's Ipsos Reid will work with the country's Sporting Goods Association (CSGA) to track trends in equipment, clothing and participation.

Sports and Loyalty Launches for IpsosIpsos Loyalty Global Benchmarks will use data going back ten years to track customer ratings on more than 50 measures of customer engagement, in sectors including mobile networks, retail banking, automotive, supermarkets, general insurance and energy. Data comes from Ipsos Loyalty panels, with balancing on key demographics.

Metrics covered include brand preference, likelihood to continue, share of past behavior, recent behaviour, likelihood to recommend (Net Promoter), willingness to pay, price comparison, and attitudes including differentiation, trust and familiarity.

According to Ipsos Loyalty CEO Ralf Ganzenmueller, 'The beauty of this new offer is that it helps our clients understand critical benchmarking information at a very reasonable cost.'

Ipsos Reid and the CSGA will 'work closely to explore new and evolving trends in the sporting goods industry', using proprietary consumer surveys to update standard category reports each quarter. In addition, the research firm will produce more in-depth, specialized reports for members to provide a deeper understanding of the marketplace.

Ipsos Reid VP Adrian Murphy comments: 'This is a very exciting opportunity to join forces with the CSGA, an association that is recognized for its diverse and vast network of industry experts.' Julian Savory, President and CEO of the CSGA, says his organisation is 'thrilled to partner with Ipsos, and deliver to our industry an engaged reliable market information resource that is in high demand.'
