Fluendo Buys LongoMatch Sports Analysis Software

September 11 2014

Barcelona-based multimedia software provider Fluendo has acquired sports analysis firm LongoMatch, which offers a cross-platform tool through which users can perform real-time analysis on sports game video feeds. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Muriel MoscardiniLaunched in 2007 by software engineer Andoni Morales, LongoMatch enables users to tag plays / events within games, review portions of a live game in slow motion, and create post-match analysis for a variety of video formats. The software also allows users to review tagged events in-game, and export clips while still analyzing the game live.

As part of the deal, the LongoMatch tool will be integrated into Fluendo's suite of products. The latter firm's CEO Muriel Moscardini (pictured) comments: 'With the rising popularity of global sports, such as soccer and basketball, we have concurrently noticed a rise in demand for online video analysis software. After reviewing the video software landscape, it was clear to us that LongoMatch not only has some of the best software in the market, but it will also work well with our ONEPLAY suite of software solutions.'
