Newsworks Shortlists Bidders for New Audience Measure

London-based newspaper marketing body Newsworks has embarked on the second phase of a formal process to find suitable partners for a new audience measurement system.

Last year, in co-operation with publishers, advertisers and agencies, it launched a plan to introduce a new system of measurement across multiple platforms from early 2016.

A Request for Proposals was issued in October, inviting a range of research and data analytics providers to bid to supply the new system for newspaper and consumer magazine brands. A large number of bids were received, and have been whittled down to a shortlist for further evaluation.

Jed Glanvill, Chairman of the Advisory Group running the process, commented: 'The Advisory Group has been impressed by the expertise and credentials of the firms responding to the Request for Proposals and we look forward to agreeing the solution that best captures the multi-platform nature of today's publishing industry.'

Newsworks says it is also making headway with plans for a new body to oversee the measurement system and to contract with the ultimate suppliers.
