January 30 2015

Consumer product and media intelligence provider Mintel has opened an office in Munich, Germany. The new location will be led by Frank Weibelzahl, who has returned to the company after a stint at concept testing and forecasting software specialist Affinova.

Frank WeibelzahlThe Munich office will serve as Mintel's hub for the D-A-CH and Central Eastern Europe region and will also support the company's development in the Polish market. Mintel's specific coverage of the German region includes analysis on consumers, markets and product innovation in the food and drink, beauty and household categories. This is the firm's thirteenth office opening, with bases also located in London, Chicago, Belfast, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, New York, Sao Paolo, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto.

In his new role, Weibelzahl will work with Katya Witham and Julia Buech, who joined Mintel last April as Food and Drink Analysts for the German Market.

Peter Haigh, Mintel CEO, comments: 'By setting up an office in Munich, we will be able to sustain our efforts and progress in Central Europe and ensure our expert analysis is efficiently delivered to our clients based in the region. It will also aid us in delivering our research further afield and continue to engage businesses in the conversations our research motivates.'
