Ipsos Third Quarter Revenue Dips

October 21 2015

Ipsos has reported a 3.7% increase in revenue to EUR 428m for the period from July to September, but at constant scope and exchange rates this equates to a fall of 2.2%. The decline cancels out a small real-terms rise in the first half of the year.

For the first nine months of the year, reported revenue rose 7.9% to EUR 1.26 bn, but after allowing for 8.6% from currency effects there was again a small decline.

Ipsos says that emerging markets in all three of its global regions have seen decreased volume. In the Europe, Middle East and Africa region rising revenues in many of the more developed markets have more than compensated for this, while in the Americas and Asia Pacific they have partly offset it.

By business line, the creation of Ipsos Connect has resulted in a complete overhaul of the firm's services and of its teams, and while the immediate financial impact is negative, the firm says it is expecting positive effects from the division during the coming years. Meanwhile, Ipsos Loyalty will end the year showing growth, Ipsos Marketing is also expected to do better than the group average, and Ipsos Public Affairs is experiencing a 'good year'.
