An App for the Teacher

February 10 2016

In the UK, digital textbook platform Kortext has launched an analytics dashboard allowing lecturers and university staff to see how students are engaging with their digital learning content.

Kortext provides access to more than 200,000 digital textbooks from major publishers, and is used by universities across the EMEA region to provide digital textbooks to students.

The new Kortext Analytics product gives lecturers data on how students on their modules are engaging with core reading and resources, presented in charts, graphs and tables, and with the aim of improving student engagement and progression. Data covers how many students on specific modules access their digital textbooks; which pages are read and whether notes are taken.

MD Andy Alferovs comments: 'When universities give their students printed textbooks, they have no way of knowing if, and how, students are engaging with them. However, with digital versions, universities can access valuable usage data that can be combined with other student data to drive engagement, progression and improve learning outcomes'.
