Emotional Targeting Firm Raises Funds and Hires GCRO

MediaBrix, a specialist in contextual and emotional targeting, has received $6.5m in funding and hired former Unruly US President Richard Kosinski for the new role of Global Chief Revenue Officer.

Richard KosinskiMediaBrix's mobile ad campaigns are designed to create emotional connections between brands and consumers. The firm claims its products target users when they are in an 'emotionally available' state of mind, leading to engagement rates 500% higher than with other digital formats.

New investment comes from Edison Partners, Revel Partners, and new investor Horizon Technology Finance, and brings the firm's total funding to $18m since launching in 2011. CEO and co-founder Ari Brandt comments: 'With this funding, we will continue to ramp our programmatic offerings, invest in R&D and expand our data sciences team focused on consumer receptivity'.

Kosinski (pictured) joins with 25 years of experience in digital media. Prior to working for News Corp-owned video ad distribution and tracking platform Unruly, he held a variety of leadership roles for Yahoo!, Quantcast, The Wall Street Journal and CNET.
