Cision Appoints Chief Data and Research Officer

US media comms technology and analytics firm Cision has appointed David Barker as Chief Data and Research Officer, based in its NYC office.

David BarkerCision's Communication Cloud combines data, technology and services into a unified communication system that brands can use to build relationships with influencers and buyers. The firm's portfolio of brands includes press release distributor PR Newswire, and media intelligence and insights firm Gorkana. Barker (pictured) joins from Oracle Marketing, where he served as VP of Media and Ad Tech Sales; before which he held senior level positions at Turn, Accenture, Omniture and Coremetrics.

The firm has also hired Chris Lynch as Chief Marketing Officer; Emir Lindo as Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships; and Dustin Johnson as Senior Vice President, Services Strategy and Operations. Cision said in a statement that the appointments align with its commitment to leading a 'data and technology revolution' in the earned media and marcomms industry.
