BrainJuicer's Johnson Transfers to System1 Agency

January 12 2017

BrainJuicer's European MD Mark Johnson has moved across to the firm's marcoms business System1 Agency, to drive the next phase of its expansion plans.

Mark JohnsonLaunched in London last year by BrainJuicer's John Kearon and former Nike Marketing Director Rod Connors, System1 Agency taps into the group's work in behavioural science and its belief that the emotional, instinctive 'System 1' brain trumps the rational, evaluative 'System 2' brain when consumers make brand choices. The business quantitatively pre-tests every piece of creative work prior to presenting ideas to clients, and guarantees a minimum ROI against every idea.

Johnson (pictured) joined BrainJuicer in 2008. During his time with the firm he has served as MD of the Alpine region, and overseen the company's European expansion with the opening of offices in Italy and France. As MD for Europe, Johnson grew the research business by more than 20% in 2016. Before joining, he was Consumer Insights Manager Innovation at Nestlé and General Mills joint venture Cereal Partners Worldwide.

Commenting on the appointment, Connors said: 'We are delighted with the success of System1 Agency's first year. Having Mark join us after what he's accomplished at BrainJuicer is exactly what the agency needs to take us into this next phase of our growth. Following Mark, our next strategic hire will be in the US'.
