Ferrero Opens Innovation Hub in Singapore

Italian confectioner Ferrero has opened its first Asian Innovation Centre in Singapore, where it will focus on consumer food science, biotechnology, health and nutrition, consumer insight and design.

Giovanni FerreroFounded in 1946, Ferrero is now the third biggest chocolate confectionery producer in the world. The business employs 41,000 staff in 53 countries, has 22 production plants globally, and its Ferrero Hazelnut Company includes six agricultural businesses and eight manufacturing plants. The new centre is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (SEDB).

SEDB Chairman Beh Swan Gin says the decision to establish the centre in Singapore underscores the city's position as the region's leading food and nutrition hub. CEO Giovanni Ferrero (pictured opening the new centre) adds: 'Innovation has always been a core value for Ferrero. Our products are the result of a strong passion for quality and research. The Singapore innovation centre will support Ferrero in its continuous pursuit of cutting edge technological solutions to offer our consumers the best quality products that provide always new taste dimensions'.
