Acxiom Receives Five US Patents

June 23 2017

Marketing data specialist Acxiom has been issued five new patents for data processing and management technology, reinforcing its focus on people-based marketing and ethical data use.

The five include methods for bringing together online and off-line advertising using anonymous links based on consumer data, and to increase accuracy in individual attributes derived from anonymous aggregate data. Also patented are methods for constructing a 'change database' to improve the efficiency and manageability of data; and a way of measuring changes in values over time and assigning them a 'delta' value depending on the significance of the change. Lastly, one patent covers a method and apparatus for matching equivalent words across languages using a set of rules that are built from a user-defined language specification (UDLS).

The company now has more than fifty issued and pending patents. President and CEO Scott Howe says the additions demonstrate the company's focus on solving 'the pressing data challenges that stand in the way of great customer experiences', and also its dedication to 'protecting consumer privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust throughout the marketing ecosystem'.
