$5m Funding for SPORTLOGiQ

Montreal-based sports analytics platform SPORTLOGiQ has raised $5m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to continue to commercialize its technology.

Craig BuntinThe firm's proprietary computer vision technologies track and analyze players' movement during games, and its analytics engine then converts the raw data into insights for professional sports teams and stats for broadcast media partners.

The new funding round was led by Rho Canada Ventures and Anges Quebec Capital, which joined early investors Mark Cuban, TandemLaunch and twelve angels. An investment group from Stockholm, Sweden also participated in the round and will assist with business development in Europe.
