IRI Adds E-Commerce EPOS Tool

September 15 2017

Retail and healthcare data firm IRI has added an E-POS Measurement Solution to its E-Commerce Solutions Suite, offering granular data on categories, brands, individual items (UPC level) and weekly POS data on e-commerce purchases at the individual retailer level.

Robert TomeiThe firm says this 'aligns the reporting of online sales with methods already in place for brick-and-mortar stores', using 'the largest available collection of online sales data in the marketplace'.

The solution will provide aggregate online POS data from a group of large grocery, drug, mass merchandise and club store retailers, as well as leading online pure play retailers. Available to clients from next month, it will be fully integrated into the IRI Liquid Data platform.

Other components of the E-Commerce Solutions Suite are the proprietary measurement, tracking and segmentation platforms E-Market Insights, Omnichannel Shopper Behavior Insights and Digital Path-to-Purchase.

IRI President Robert I. Tomei (pictured) comments: 'A deep understanding of e-commerce and the factors influencing online purchase behavior is critical to understanding sales performance and consumer habits broadly. As part of our complete E-Commerce Solutions Suite, IRI will now be able to leverage actual POS data to provide marketers with a diagnostic tool that compares online and offline purchasing trends, offering a comprehensive look at what's happening overall in the marketplace'.
