GeoSpark Launches Location-based BlueGlass Tool

December 15 2017

New location-based information business GeoSpark Analytics has launched its flagship platform BlueGlass, which aggregates millions of data points to report on trends and events in user-defined geographic areas. The launch is supported by an additional $2m investment.

Omar BalkissoonThe new tool has been developed to provide location-based views into several data sources, helping customers to understand trends and events around people and locations of interest. BlueGlass was developed by OGSystems, a technology enabler to the US Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, and GeoSpark Analytics was spun out of it by the OGSystems leadership team and General Catalyst.

The firm's new funding round has led by Zero Gravity Capital. CEO Omar Balkissoon (pictured) comments: 'Government and corporate leaders need to plan and react with the best information available and with speed. We built BlueGlass to answer the question 'what's happening here and why?' Today, data is abundant, but chaotic. Organizing all of the data at our disposal by location, frequency, and time provides a complete picture that is more than the sum of its parts'.

Chantilly, VA-based GeoSpark is online at www.geospark.io .
