hulu Promotes DeTraglia for New Head of Research Role

In the US, subscription-based video streaming service hulu has promoted former Head of Ad Sales Research Julie DeTraglia to the newly created position of Vice President and Head of Research, overseeing all the company's research teams.

Julie DeTragliahulu offers instant access to live and on-demand channels, original series and films, and a library of TV movies to more than 47 million viewers in the US. Before joining in 2016, DeTraglia (pictured) spent fifteen years at NBCUniversal, latterly as SVP of Digital Research. In that role, she was responsible for sales research, strategy and analytics across NBC's digital properties, including sites and apps for NBC Entertainment, News, Sports, Olympics and cable entertainment properties. Earlier, she was a Senior Research Analyst at Paramount Advertiser Services; Manager of Research & Marketing at MGM Worldwide Television; Director or Research for Microcast; and VP of Research for CTN Media Group. In addition to her day job, she is a member of the Samba TV Data Advisory Board and multiple industry councils.

As part of her newly expanded role, reporting to CMO Kelly Campbell, DeTraglia oversees all the company's research teams across ad sales, consumer marketing, and user experience. In addition, she leads the development, design and implementation of all research initiatives, advising business leads on sales strategy, consumer insights, customer acquisition, and product design and experience.

In a statement, the company said said: 'Julie's promotion marks the first time all research and insights initiatives will be centralized under a single lead at hulu'.
