Real Estate Sector Buy Creates 'One-Stop Data Shop'

February 19 2018

In the US, property database provider ATTOM Data Solutions has acquired Onboard Informatics, which provides neighborhood data and data-enabled turnkey products to the real estate industry.

Real Estate Sector Buy Creates 'One-Stop Data Shop'Onboard, founded fifteen years ago, offers products including area data (neighborhood, metro and residential boundaries along with school attendance zones), point of interest data (restaurants, banks, shopping and more), and community data (crime, population, education, weather and commuter times).

The firm's neighborhood data will now be integrated into the ATTOM Data Warehouse which already includes property tax, deed, mortgage, foreclosure, environmental risk and natural hazard information for more than 155 million US residential and commercial properties. Every property record in the Warehouse will be given a unique 'ATTOM ID', through which the new neighborhood data will be linked.

ATTOM CEO Rob Barber says the buy will give customers 'complementary datasets in a one-stop data shop', adding: 'Onboard has a long and accomplished track record as an innovator in enhancing and democratizing neighborhood data assets, paralleling our own mission of powering real estate transparency'.

Marc Siden, CEO and co-founder of Onboard Informatics, comments: 'This acquisition by ATTOM will enable Onboard's customers to conveniently access robust tax, deed and mortgage data, that, when combined with Onboard's neighborhood data, completes the full property data picture needed to improve decision-making, increase lead generation and grow revenue'.
