Local Data Firm Findyr Merges with Big Data Leviathan

In the US, location-based data collection firm Findyr has merged with big data platform Leviathan Analytics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lyndon OhNew York-based Findyr pays users of its app to collect data, perform surveys, take photos and capture videos in their city. When it merges with Leviathan, a software provider selling location analytics tools, the combined company will takes the Findyr name, and will be led by Leviathan Analytics founder Lyndon Oh (pictured).

Oh worked previously for Google as a Program Manager, and before that was an analytics exec at Facebook. He says of the merger: 'Our on-demand crowdsourced data collection platform and real-time geospatial data feed creates the world's most complete high frequency data map for any location in the world. By joining forces, our ground-level data capture and cloud-based machine learning tools offer enterprises unprecedented precision and a unique advantage in analyzing physical assets, hedging against downside risks in human behavior, and spotting economic opportunity from one city block to the next'.
