FreeWheel Helps Nielsen Expand 'Across TV Ecosystem'

Nielsen is to work with Comcast company FreeWheel, to expand its measurement services to include inventory for over-the-top (OTT) and set-top box video.

Megan ClarkenNielsen announced in November that it was integrating STB data from broadcasting and cable television company Comcast into its local TV measurement service. Its new agreement with FreeWheel aims to improve understanding of the 'total television marketplace', expanding the overall 'market liquidity' of the TV ecosystem by opening up data-enabled, targetable premium digital video platforms as a means of reaching consumers. More details will be provided ahead of the 2019 TV 'upfronts', when networks pitch their new packages to the ad industry.
