Location Analytics Firm Cloud4Wi Buys WiTech

US firm Cloud4Wi, which offers guest WiFi, location analytics and location-based marketing, has acquired Pisa, Italy-based WiFi solutions provider WiTech for an undisclosed sum.

San Francisco-based Cloud4Wi's suite of products provides companies with in-depth understanding of who customers are and how they behave. To date, the firm says its product suite has connected more than 100 million mobile users across 30,000 locations in over 100 countries, while collecting more than 7.5 billion points of location data per month. Clients include retail and restaurant chains, shopping centers, and those in transportation, hospitality and finance.

In a statement, Cloud4Wi says the acquisition will enhance its own services for large enterprise customers and increase revenue growth. CEO and co-founder Andrea Calcagno (pictured) adds: 'The WiTech acquisition is part of our growth strategy, which is focused on boosting our presence in our target markets and bringing key talent under the Cloud4Wi umbrella. We are delighted to welcome WiTech's team to our family'.
