Lightspeed Promotes for MD Asia Role

WPP's digital data collection firm Lightspeed has promoted Siddhartha 'Sid' Dutta to the new role of Managing Director, Asia, with responsibility for Singapore, India, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.

He moves up from the role of General Manager of Lightspeed South East Asia, based in Singapore, where he led the business across South East Asia and India. He has more than a decade of market research industry and management experience, including spells at Greenfield and Research Now.

He reports to Global CEO Caroline Frankum, who comments: 'Asia is an exciting, transforming part of the world, where growth is a real opportunity. Sid is - without shadow of a doubt - the best person for this role to drive growth in bold, creative and fast ways. It is part of his DNA!'

Dutta has also been a key player in a new partnership with AI platform Eureka, which gives Lightspeed access to millions of mobile subscribers from companies across ASEAN, India, the Middle East and Europe. The partnership will allow Lightspeed to connect survey data to that compiled by telecoms firms, from simple demographics to online behaviors and interests; and will boost the research firm's panel reach and data integration abilities.

In May, the company opened an office in Seoul, Korea, and announced a stronger focus on China with the Promotion of Jeff Tsui to MD Greater China.
