Tribune's Cavanaugh Joins Magid

US-based strategy and custom research company Magid has named former Tribune Broadcasting exec Kerri Cavanaugh as Senior Consultant, Media Strategy Group.

Cavanaugh (pictured) worked most recently as Vice President of News for Tribune Broadcasting's local stations in Indianapolis, WXIN-TV Channel 59 and WTTV-TV Channel 4, overseeing a staff of 165 people and more than 90 hours of news each week. She introduced 7pm and 11pm newscasts, and in 2015 launched a CBS news brand from the ground up in 144 days, hiring more than 60 people. She has been named Broadcasting & Cable's News Director of the Year, and won multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards.

Earlier in her career she worked as news director in Miami and Grand Rapids, Michigan, and as a producer and executive producer in Tuscaloosa, AL and in Tampa and West Palm Beach, FL.
