Crimson Hexagon Co-founder Joins InMoment Board

November 16 2018

US-based customer intelligence platform InMoment has appointed Crimson Hexagon co-founder and Harvard Professor Gary King to its Board of Directors.

Gary KingInMoment was formed four years ago from the merger of US firm Mindshare Technologies and Canadian company Empathica. Earlier this year, the company acquired Australia-based CX consulting firm brandXP, aiming to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

King (pictured) co-founded social media monitoring and analysis firm Crimson Hexagon (now merged with Brandwatch), in 2007. He currently serves as Director of Harvard University's Institute for Quantitative Social Science, and is also the co-founder of data science specialist Thresher, collaborative reading platform Perusall, and interactive classroom solution Learning Catalyst. More recently, he led a team of academics who are developing a model to better understand the implications of social media and digital technologies - starting with Facebook's impact on upcoming elections. His previous accomplishments include deriving methods to overcome interpersonal incomparability in survey research, and inventing numerous statistical methods widely used across academia, government and the private sector.

Commenting on King's appointment, fellow Board member Robert Youngjohns said: 'Gary is both one of the foremost data scientists in the world, and a successful entrepreneur several times over. Gary's remarkable ability to unite science and commercial opportunity is central to his appointment to our Board, and an indication of InMoment's momentum in bringing a completely unique perspective and value to the business and science of CX'.
