Online Marketplaces Get Their Own Analytics Suite

December 10 2018

Kahuna, a company focused on support services for online marketplaces, has launched an analytics solution to give its clients dashboard feedback on the performance and usage of their platforms, and to forecast user churn.

Sameer PatelThe firm says 'Marketplace Health' is 'the only analytics solution designed expressly for marketplaces', which are unlike 'traditional e-commerce sites' in having to cater for 'two masters - buyers and sellers - simultaneously; and has been developed in close co-operation with clients 'grappling with inadequate dashboards and KPIs adapted from legacy e-commerce solutions'. The tool promises 'one-click functionality' addressing three key concerns: Marketplace Health, include metrics on buyer-seller ratio, platform leakage and gross merchandise value; Smart Onboarding, using machine learning to help marketplace operators accelerate conversion of users; and the Churn Predictor, using advanced AI capabilities in the Kahuna platform to predict how likely a given user is to leave, helping to reduce churn 'by as much as 50% over competing approaches'.

CEO Sameer Patel (pictured) comments: 'We spend a lot of time with our customers and understand that digital marketplace platforms are very different from e-commerce platforms. Kahuna is uniquely positioned to help marketplace platforms track and solve their most critical strategic and operational challenges. Our architecture enables us to monitor and determine the health of a marketplace in a way that others simply can't. We are excited to be up-leveling the Kahuna platform with these unique and vital features'.

Venture capital-backed Kahuna is online at www.kahuna.com .
