Counter Intelligence Rebranded as NPD Travel Retail

In the UK, travel retail research and analysis firm Counter Intelligence Retail (CiR) is to be re-named NPD Travel Retail, two years after its acquisition by retail information provider The NPD Group.

Garry StasiulevicuisYork-based CiR offers services such as passenger and shopper intercept interviews, an online panel covering more than 200 nationalities, in-airport and in-store passenger behaviour tracking, and international focus groups. It also offers the Business Lounge service providing industry data to support travel retail brand owners.

The rebrand aligns the business with the rest of the group, and NPD says it plans to introduce new services, including an airport-level sales performance product linked to a traveller statistics and shopper intelligence service.
