In New York, former ORC International Americas CEO Tom Markert has joined DIY consumer insights platform Perksy as Chief Operating Officer.
Perksy's platform powers real-time research with a range of audiences through a mobile app that rewards users for answering questions. The company has raised a total of $4.5m since its launch in 2015, over two rounds led by Bain Capital Ventures, with the second announced a couple of days ago.
Markert (pictured) joins with a background that includes both domestic and international senior management positions in the MR industry. Prior to ORC International, where he also served as Global Product Development Lead, he worked for Research Now as EVP Sales and Business Development; digital marketing agency Digital Tailwind as CEO; Office Depot as SVP Strategy and Innovation; and Ipsos as CEO Loyalty Worldwide. Earlier, he held a number of senior positons at Nielsen including CEO for Australia and New Zealand, President of Nielsen Canada, and Global Chief Marketing and Client Service Officer. Markert spent the early part of his career with Procter & Gamble and Citi.
