Launch for New Cannabis Sector Analyst Pioneer

In the US, marketing strategist and management consultant Ben Walters has launched a company called Pioneer Intelligence, which will use data to benchmark and explore the marketing performance of consumer-facing cannabis brands.

Ben WaltersPioneer Intelligence has been established to help cannabis industry stakeholders better understand how communications strategies and tactics are resonating with audiences. Its team of marketers and data scientists will use a proprietary database which is growing each week by more than 25,000 data points, to generate insights and reports.

The new firm will offer the Pioneer Index, a weekly ranking of the 'hottest' US cannabis brands using a comparative scoring system which currently includes more than 500 brands operating in fifteen states. A scorecard report will soon be launched showing the marketing performance of individual brands.

Commenting on the company launch, Walters (pictured) said: 'Marketers working in cannabis face a unique set of challenges: disparate consumer demographics, ever-evolving regulations around advertising, geographic constraints. It's a lot to take in. Through performance benchmarking, we're trying to help make sense of it'. On the company's positioning, Walters continued, “There's really solid data out there around cannabis sales, consumption, and demographics. We're adding something new to the mix'.
