Chicago Launch and Senior Hires for Further&Further

January 27 2020

One-year-old immersive research firm Further&Further has added a fourth office in Chicago, to existing locations in Montreal, New York and London. Eve Ejsmont and Brian Flannery join the new office as Directors while Matthew Pemberton joins the Montreal office as a Film Director.

Ian PierpointThe company was established under a year ago by Ian Pierpoint, previously founder of qual research, innovation and strategy agency The Sound, and all three of the new staff join from the same company. Ejsmont and Flannery will jointly head up the new Chicago hub.

Further&Further, which launched a London office in September, uses a combination of ethnography and qualitative research inspired by documentary filmmaking. Researchers spend up to five days with subjects and 'follow the story wherever it takes them', building trust and finding deeper insights. Staff work a four-day week and senior members focus on one project at a time, an approach which CEO Pierpoint says 'improves the quality of the work and offsets the pressure, long hours and travel that qualitative research often involves'.

He says of the new office: 'Opening in Chicago is an important step for us. It's one of our favorite cities and being based there allows us to better meet the needs of our Chicago clients. We're finding that amazing people want to join our business. A culture of creativity and respect, work life balance and focus on product quality seems to be a very attractive proposition to researchers who want to work different'.
