J.D. Power Appoints Ad Research Director

J.D. Power and Associates has appointed Gene Cameron, previously President and CEO at BBDO/West Advertising, as Executive Director of its Media practice area (advertising research). Tom Healey, former Director of the practice, will continue with the company as a special adviser in the firm’s US Automotive Group.

As well as his experience at BBDO/West, Cameron has worked for advertising firms including Ogilvy & Mather, Chiat Day, Inc. Advertising, Fotouhi Alonso Advertising, and Mendelsohn/Zien Advertising. He also has automotive industry experience, having developed ads for Mitsubishi, Porsche, Nissan and Chrysler.

In his new role, he will be responsible for making use of customer data to help automotive manufacturers and ad agencies target their audiences across different media. He will also develop integrated media programs across traditional and Internet platforms for car and truck studies, and for additional media-focused studies.

Bob Reilly, Executive VP of Client Solutions in the firm’s US Automotive Group says Cameron’s knowledge and experience of the advertising industry ‘will serve as a strong foundation to push our research and consulting endeavours to the next level’.
