TNS PeopleMeters for Philippines

TNS has announced agreements with the two leading broadcasters in the Philippines, ABS-CBN and GMA, to set up a new PeopleMeter service in the country. A representative panel of 1200 households reporting their viewing daily from the beginning of next year.

TNS pioneered the use of the Arbitron PPM for both TV and radio measurement, and its iTRAM system (Internet, TV & Radio Audience Measurement) supports TV audience measurement services in 30 countries, with 65,000 TNS PeopleMeters in operation in almost 40,000 households.

Tony Taylor, the agency's Global Commercial Director, iTRAM, says the agreements represent further growth for TNS iTRAM in Asia, building on the launch of new services in Hong Kong and Singapore and an expanding service in China.

Eugenio Lopez III, Chairman & CEO, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation welcomed the entry of TNS, commenting: 'We recognize their world class expertise in this area and look forward to the start of their service.'
