Nielsen Extends Retail Partnership

ACNielsen has signed a new five-year agreement expanding its partnership with Dollar General, which operates more than 8,000 dollar stores. ACN will provide Account Level Services for the US retailer, including a Census level trade area which will be available to the vendor community.

The companies will also create custom-defined templates for use in Dollar General's category management process: data for these will come exclusively from ACNielsen and will include trade area information as well as Homescan Consumer Panel insights.

According to Senior VP Client Service Dan Sacco, the agreement 'moves our relationship from Market Level cooperation to full Account Release. We are pleased to see our efforts paying off...'

Dollar General sells food, snacks, health and beauty aids and cleaning supplies, as well as a selection of basic apparel, housewares and seasonal items. It has a support center in Goodlettsville, Tennessee and a web site at www.dollargeneral.com . ACNielsen's home page is at www.acnielsen.com .
