General Motors Analyst Leaves for Insurance Insight Role

Paul Ballew, Director of Market and Industry Analysis at General Motors (GM), will be leaving the auto industry to take up a new role as Senior VP Consumer Insights and Market Research at Nationwide Insurance in Ohio.

Paul BallewHe initially joined GM as a Sales Analyst in 1999 and went on to lead the firm's global market and industry analysis team. Prior to this, Ballew was a Partner and Senior Director at marketing information services firm JD Power and Associates, and a Research Officer and Senior Economist specialising in the automotive industry with the Federal Reserve.

GM officials commented in a statement: 'Paul's industry knowledge is immense. His counsel and perspective will be missed.'

Ballew is expected to step down in early November and according to GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson, his replacement will be announced shortly.
