TNS Promotes Czarnowski to UK Custom MD

TNS has promoted Andrew Czarnowski to the post of MD of its UK and Ireland Custom business; tasked with driving growth in one the firm's largest units and exploiting capabilities in shopper, brand and communications research.

Andrew CzarnowskiCzarnowski joined the Consumer Panel division of TNS in 1993, and subsequently ran Worldpanel UK where he was responsible for driving revenue and profit growth. He was a member of the Worldpanel Global Board and joined UK Custom at the beginning of 2007.

He succeeds Trevor Richards, who is taking on the role of Chairman of the UK Custom business, in addition to further European responsibilities.

'Andrew's considerable experience in making research actionable for clients has been instrumental in driving the success of our Custom divisions in the UK' says Richards. 'He not only has a proven track record of successfully managing and growing business, but he also has a depth of financial and operational experience that will be invaluable in helping us achieve our business objectives.'

Richards will change roles from MD to Chairman, and will also assume interim responsibility for TNS in Northern Europe and the Baltic States. He has worked in the market research industry for 30 years, firstly at Research International and then at BMRB. He joined TNS in 1993 when he ran the TNS Australia business, became Joint Global Leader of Brand and Advertising Research in 2005, and more recently headed up the UK Custom division.

In March, TNS acquired online behaviour measurement company Compete, and announced plans to integrate it with its own panels and custom research to provide a rounded picture of how online consumer behaviour affects purchasing decisions.
