Harte-Hanks CEO Steps Down

December 16 2008

Dean Blythe, President and CEO of US-based direct marketing giant Harte-Hanks, is to leave the firm to 'pursue other professional opportunities'. He will be replaced by company veteran and current Chairman of the Board, Larry Franklin.

Blythe, who stepped up to his current position in August 2007 after six years with the firm, will resign from the Board later this month.

Franklin commented: 'Dean has made significant contributions in each of the positions he has held. Most recently, he has played a critical role in leading our company to address the challenges we face during this dynamic and volatile period in the global economic environment. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.'

Franklin has served as a Director of Harte-Hanks since 1974 and was the firm's CEO from 1991 until 2002, and Executive Chairman until the end of 2005. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.

Founded in 1923, Texas-headquartered Harte-Hanks targets promotions based on information gathered at the point-of-sale. The company's five divisions are: Information (data collection/management); Opportunity (data access/utilization); Insight (data analysis/interpretation); Engagement (program and campaign creation and development); and Interaction (program execution).
