Global Roll-Out for Nielsen Store Planning Tool

February 5 2009

Nielsen is about to roll out its store layout and category space management solution my.spaceman, across more than 100 markets.

The tool was launched more than two decades ago, to enable retailers and manufacturers to find the optimum store and shelf positioning for products, avoid out-of-stock situations, decrease the amount of inventory they hold, and improve the overall efficiency of the retail operation.

It has since been translated into 16 languages and used by more than 2,700 businesses worldwide - comprising over 15,000 retailers and manufacturers in around 100 countries.

The latest version of the tool can perform new in-depth analyses, cross-store analyses and cross-category analyses of assortment and space content.

It integrates existing Nielsen space and planogram management software and databases into one customisable interface, and can now be integrated with both client data and planning systems.

'The flexibility and simplicity of the my.spaceman solution are unparalleled in the marketplace,' states Bruno Gaudin, Global Product Manager Merchandising Services Business. 'Client feedback indicates that this solution can help retailers and manufacturers more rapidly implement their customer-centric assortment and space management initiatives at the cluster and store specific level, with the aim of maximizing revenue and profit in difficult economic times.'
