Bazaarvoice
US-based word-of-mouth specialist Bazaarvoice has appointed Kelly Connery as General Manager, Brands North America, and Matthew Schatz as General Manager, Retail and Emerging Markets.
Founded in 2005 by CEO Brett Hurt, Bazaarvoice offers technology, analytics and expertise to help companies enhance the online shopping experience with related social media applications.
In February, the company announced the launch of an initial public offering (IPO) of approximately 9.4 million shares, 9 million of which will have a target price range of between $8 and $10, with a further 484,000 offered by existing shareholders.
Connery (pictured) joins from BMC Software, where as VP of Sales he led the business across the Americas. Prior to this he worked for eglue Technologies as EVP Sales and Field Operations, and as VP and GM Americas for Cramer Systems. He began his career with customer relationship management firm Clarify, latterly as VP Americas, Communications Sector.
Schatz joins after founding and running a charity, Mekon Aid International, which establishes dormitories and funds school improvements in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. Prior to this, he was a sales executive at hosted server specialist Rackspace, where was tasked with building the European and Hong Kong teams.
In his new role, Schatz will lead Bazaarvoice’s expansion in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Both join European GM Mark Riggs as part of the firm’s global GM structure, and all report to COO Heather Brunner.
