Decision Resources

US healthcare market research firm Decision Resources has appointed Lori Silver as General Counsel, responsible for all legal aspects of the firm.

She joins with an array of relevant experience, including five years at the Office of the General Counsel of Harvard University, handling litigation, contracts, intellectual property, computer and Internet issues and international operations. Silver has a BA in Political Science from Stanford University and a JD from Harvard Law School.

In her new role, Silver will be responsible for managing all legal issues related to the company’s business, including commercial agreements, intellectual property, employment, licensing and acquisitions.

‘As Decision Resources continues to implement an aggressive growth strategy – both organically and through acquisitions – Lori will be instrumental in helping us achieve our business expansion goals, owing to her wide range of impressive legal expertise, especially in the areas of intellectual property protection and compliance in general,’ said CEO Peter Hoenigsberg.

The Decision Resources group comprises three business units: HealthLeaders-InterStudy which provides managed care industry intelligence; Millennium Research Group, an authority on medical device market intelligence; and Decision Resources which focuses on pharmaceutical and health research.

Since December, the firm has acquired a number of business including the Life Sciences unit of Wood Mackenzie; Arlington Medical Resources, a provider of market intelligence for the pharma and diagnostic imaging industries; Fingertip Formulary, which offers access to and insight into formulary data in the US; and physician and consumer opinions agency Manhattan Research.
