Abt Associates

Massachusetts-headquartered Abt Associates has appointed Constantin Abarbieritei as Division VP for International Economic Growth.

Abarbieritei is a financial sector development specialist whose background has involved working with companies and government agencies in South-East Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He joined Abt in 2006 when the firm acquired the IBM International Public Sector Group which he led. Prior to this he managed a number of mergers and acquisitions projects for Price Waterhouse's Corporate Finance unit in Russia. He is a graduate of the Yale University School of Management with a concentration in finance, and of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania.

Janet Ballantyne, Group VP for International Development commented: ‘Constantin brings experience, knowledge and energy to this leadership position. He is client focused and will strengthen our expanding international economic growth team both from a business development and an execution standpoint.’

The division conducts projects in trade, agribusiness, finance, labour, environment, macroeconomic analysis and sector policy, and clients include the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank.
