Nielsen Moves to New Regional HQ in Dubai

Nielsen is opening new regional headquarters in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, from which it will continue to serve clients in the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.

Piyush MathurThe new office is based in the city's tax free zone Dubai Media City, which is home to a range of media organizations including news agencies, publishing firms, online media companies, advertising, agencies and broadcast facilities.

Piyush Mathur, Regional MD for Middle East & North Africa at Nielsen, explained: ''Dubai Media City will serve as a highly strategic base for our activities and bring us closer to our clients while helping us streamline our geographical operations and align with their niche regional requirements.'

Mathur took up his present role in 2006, when Nielsen moved its Middle East and North Africa head office from Nicosia, Cyprus to Dubai. He has worked for the firm in a variety of senior roles since 1999, prior to which, he spent five years at Mumbai-headquartered ACNielsen ORG-MARG.

Earlier this year, Nielsen Online - the research giant's online audience and consumer behaviour division - launched its services in India, as well as in the UAE and across the Middle East. The division also made its Internet audience measurement and web analytics solutions available to clients in the Middle East.
