AMEX Business Travel Opens Research Practice

In the US, American Express Business Travel has opened a dedicated research practice to help companies cut the cost of their business trips.

Christa ManningThe new eXpert insights practice, which promises a resource for thought leadership, benchmarking and research, will be led by former AMR Research and Aberdeen Group researcher Christa Manning.

As Head of the division, Manning will be responsible for identifying the trends in the industry, educating clients on the impact of market changes to their program and publishing advice.

The division will tap into American Express Business Travel's database of travel and expense data, representing more than $100bn in spending, the collective knowledge of hundreds of consultants, and decades of travel experience.

'It is critical for companies to have access to timely data and resources to arm them with the knowledge and guidance they need to make the right travel management decisions,' said Manning. 'Not only will eXpert insights provide the resources necessary to make the best travel strategy and policy decisions, but it will offer consistent advice and guidance to assist companies with implementing changes.'

The resource is offered through an annual subscription available to companies of all sizes globally. Subscribers will also receive a monthly newsletter featuring supply base analysis, a pricing benchmarking monitor containing details on average business traveller fares, and a travel forecast prediction report.
