AMR Founder Fine Moves On

In Sydney, Australia, AMR research founder Brian Fine is to leave his job in November. Fine started the company, now part of marketing content and services firm STW Group, 25 years ago.

He is currently Chairman of STW's Online Research Unit (ORU) and of its Insights Group, which includes AMR Interactive. He will remain in his role as adjunct professor at the UTS school of marketing for the next three years, and as the Australian ESOMAR representative, and will work with both the ORU and AMR on consulting projects.

STW Group CEO Michael Connaghan says Fine has made 'a significant contribution to STW's research capabilities and the broader industry itself' and adds: 'Brian has worked hard to develop an outstanding team at ORU that is committed to panel quality and the ongoing development of the best online research techniques. He will leave our group with our deep respect and admiration.' Fine himself said he had enjoyed working within STW but added: 'It is time for new challenges, both professional and personal. I will be sorry to leave, but am looking forward to the change.'

The ORU, which was split from AMR Interactive in January 2008, provides online panels and fieldwork, including sampling, programming, hosting and data-processing.

The group's web site is at www.stwgroup.com.au .
